Here's the text of the Reply that I redacted

I posted a reply here on xxxchurch that I thought might have been offensive to those who are unskilled in the scriptures. This is the link to the redacted post: http://www.xxxchurch.com/gethelp/teens/confessions/blog/mysource.html#comment-185348943

Here's the original post:

I'm not picking on you brother or sister, just wanted to take the opportunity to point out to others here that your statement "ANY sex outside of the confines of marriage is explicitly sin" is no where explicit in the Bible. This is the standard teaching today, but has no true foundation. People often refer to the words of Christ in Matt. 19 to the first couple whom God said became one flesh; but the context is the permanency of marriage in God's eyes not the requirement for it as a container for sexual activity. I don't think there's any evidence, scientific or biblical that monogamy is "wired" in to the human race. Let me know some references for that.

I agree with you that the New Covenant fulfilled the Old, so that the types were subsumed by the anti-types, the reality replaced the shadows. However, it is still true that changes in culture and society have effected changes in New Testament rule and practice as well. For example, most Christians today no longer keep the Sabbath holy; they buy and sell on the Sabbath and have their servants (waiters at restaurants for example) work on the Sabbath, or their supposed Sabbath. (God never changed the Sabbath day or law. I'm not saying that I keep the Sabbath in the traditional sense, but most Christians claim to keep the 10 commandments) Many Christians allow women to speak in their church services, have short hair, no veils, as well as to teach and have authority. These things were expressly forbidden by the New Testament.

So, in this respect I agree with "Silts'. The knowledge of the biology of reproduction as well as the advent of good birth control methods have made unnecessary monogamy by the female and virginity on her wedding day. The spirit of the Law trumps the letter of the Law as Christ Himself--and Paul-- taught. Just like the education and vocational training of females has empowered and freed them from menial subjection to the males around them, so has contraception freed them from traditional sexual restraints that were designed to protect financial concerns such as inheritance and raising children. These new paradigms cause marriage to be postponed for over 10 years beyond the natural time, i.e. 23 instead of 13 as in the Bible. It is illogical to tell people to not have sex until they're 23, just because we want to change the age when people start having sex. They had more sense than that in pre-modern times.
